Esther Marie Mischbaugh (1893-)
Esther Mischbaugh was the youngest child of William Mischbaugh (later spelled Mishbaugh) and Anna M. Cook. She was born on 30 March 1893 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. She died on 6 March 1956 in Ben Avon, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. She was married to Chester Arthur Voegtly. They did not appear to have had any children.
In the 1900 Census, Esther is 7 years old and living with her parents. Also listed on this census is William R. Mischbaugh who is four years old and was born in April 1896. William R. Mischbaugh is the son of Oswald Mischbaugh. They both live in the same neighborhood.
In the 1910 U.S. Census, at the age of 17, Esther is living with her parents. Her sister and brother-in-law, Lottie and Raymond McCleary are living a few houses down from them. Mable is working as a stenographer.
In the 1920 U.S. Census, Esther is 26 and is living with her mother and father and she is working as a stenographer at a railroad.
In the 1930 U.S. Census, Esther is living with her father and sister Lottie McCleary. She is a stenographer for an architect business and is 37 years old.
From Chester Voegtly's World War II draft registration dated 1942, he lists Esther as his spouse. They were living in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The 1930 U.S. Census shows Chester Voegtly as being single at age 32 living with his aunt Anna V. Eggers.
Chester Voegtly was the son of Mary F.
Quinn (b. Aug 7, 1867, d. aft. 1930) and
William Nicholas Voegtly, Sr. (b. Jan 23,
1860, d. Nov 4, 1928).
The Voegtly family was associated with the
"Voegtly Church" (German Evangelical
Protestant), having donated the original
land for the site of the church in what was
then Allegheny City, PA. The church was
completed in 1834.
Brother to William Nicholas, Jr. (b. Jul 12,
1887, d. Jan 9, 1940), Gertrude Olivia (b.
Jul 13, 1889, d. 1951, married Charles Seel
and later, Floyd E. Miller), Mary (b. May
11, 1892, d. Jul 27, 1893), and Virginia
Adelia Voegtly (b. Jan 11, 1900, d. Sep 1,
1970, married Calvin Milarr and later,
William Friskey).
