John Bishop

 

John Bishop was born about 1795 in Georgia probably Oglethorp County. Another source says he was born around 1790.  Other information has him listed as being born in North Carolina.  He was the son of David Bishop and Lucretia Henderson.  He died after 1840 and before 1850. John married Martha Lucretia Taylor before 1811, before he was 16.  In 1840, at the age of 45, he and his family lived in Simpson County, Mississippi.

  • Nancy I. Bishop, b. 1820, died young

  • Elbert Bishop, about. 1821, d. Texas, married Mary "Robby" Albriton

  • Nancy II Bishop, b. 20 Aug 1824, d. 30 Aug 1888, married Thomas Harrison Young

  • Betsy Bishop, b. 1825, married Luther Taylor

  • James Bishop, b. 1827, married Eliza (Louisa) Lane

  • Martha Bishop, b. 1828, married William Bill Berry

  • Elisha Bishop, b. 1831, married Louisa Berry

  • Harriet Bishop, b. 30 Nov 1832, d. 13 Feb 1926, married Denson Berry
