Lucretia Henderson (1765-)

 

Lucretia Henderson was born around 1786 in North Carolina.  She married David Bishop.  

 

Children of David Bishop and Lucretia Henderson are:

 

 

A source says David Bishop, referred to as David Bishop I, came from England to Holland around 1759. Then he left Holland because his children were inter-marrying with the Dutch and settled in Georgia. He went from Georgia in ? to Jackson County, Mississippi and settled on the Chickasaha River. After that he moved to Waynesboro. He later moved near Westville in Simpson County, Mississippi.

 

David's widow and 16 year old son, David Bishop, II settled at what is known as the "Till Place" in L. B. Bush's field. (This information was copied from an old and faded hand written sheet done by Ellen Bishop Copeland.

 

The following letter from Lillian Bishop Lockhart.

 

David Bishop who came from Holland settled in Oglethorpe, Georgia. He had a son David who married Lucretia Henderson. This couple, Lucretia H. Bishop and David Bishop, had a son John who married Lucretia Taylor. Lucretia Taylor Bishop was the daughter of Daddy Taylor and Martha Hinds Taylor.

 

The above information was given to me verbally by my Grandmother Hephzibah Powell Bishop and my Aunt Ann Bishop Patterson. My Grandfather David Bishop, husband of Hephzibah Powell Bishop, was the son of the John Bishop mentioned above. And I hereby certify that as far as I can ascertain this information is correct. (Lillian Bishop Lockhart. (Mrs. Estes Jacob Lockhart). Sworn to ? subscribed before me this ? day of ? A. D. 1952. It looks like it was going to be notarized for Jones County, State of Mississippi.
