Elijah Bishop (1813-1885)

 

Elijah Bishop is the son of John Bishop and Martha Lucretia Taylor. He was born 11 April 1813 in Mississippi and died 23 December 1885 in Simpson County Mississippi at the age of 72. He was married to Winniford Powell.  Winniford Powell died in 1866 and on 1 March 1878, Elijah married Mrs. Rebecca Powell Chandler, Winniford's in Simpson County, Mississippi.

Notes for Joseph Baker:
This information was obtained from research performed by Betty Pokereno. After his marriage in 1797, Joseph appears as an early settler in York Township across the river from Baker Station on 13 Apr 1803. It appears that he purchased land on Cert. # 5627, R4 T14 S31 in 1815 or 1816 as referenced in "Ohio Lands, Stubenville Land Records 1800 - 1820 by Bell". He is listed on 1820 Ohio census in York Township having five males and six females.
